HALINA is a singer-songwriter and producer from Leeds, West Yorkshire. Now based in South East London. Her brooding, fragmented songs employ broken beats, warped melodies and confessional narratives to produce haunting sonic landscapes – standing on a knife edge between tender emotion and dark anxiety. Some take the form of sketches which bud and build over time, from muted murmurs to chaotic crescendo. Others drift by just out of reach, one-sided conversations with an imaginary lover.

Grounded by the musical tastes of her parents in roots, reggae, dub, new wave, punk and soul, HALINA immersed herself in the sonic and cultural texture of London upon arrival. Her songs bear the weight of the city, tracing the everyday tensions between escapism and alienation, love and loss, adulation and anxiety.

HALINA’s debut project The Game featuring, co-production from frequent collaborator Saint Jude, is a crucible of heartfelt lyricism, lilting synths and scattered percussion.

In September 2022 HALINA will tour the UK with musician, friend and Warp Records signee Wu-Lu.
